By accessing or using the research-assistant application (accessible via our primary domain or application endpoints), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Description of Service
research-assistant is an automated platform that utilizes artificial intelligence to search, curate, and summarize academic research and literature based on user queries. The platform acts solely as a research aid and data processing tool.
3. Use of Google Workspace APIs and User Data
Our application may request access to certain Google APIs to function properly. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres strictly to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not transfer, sell, or share user data obtained through Google APIs with third parties for advertising purposes or for determining creditworthiness.
4. AI Disclaimer and Output Accuracy
The summaries, insights, and citations generated by the application are processed by artificial intelligence (AI) models. While we strive for accuracy, AI can produce hallucinated, incomplete, or inaccurate information. You are solely responsible for verifying the accuracy, completeness, and validity of all AI-generated outputs against original, primary academic sources before relying on them for academic, professional, or commercial purposes.
5. User Conduct and Restrictions
You agree not to:
- Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any academic integrity policies.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or exploit the platform's API or AI agents.
- Submit malicious queries or payloads intended to disrupt the service infrastructure.
6. Intellectual Property
The research-assistant branding, design, and underlying code are the intellectual property of the service operator. All academic papers, articles, and raw data retrieved by the platform remain the intellectual property of their respective publishers, authors, or copyright holders. The application processes and provides summaries under fair use principles for educational and research support purposes.
7. Limitation of Liability
The service is provided on an "as-is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, research-assistant and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages resulting from the use or inability to use the service, or from any errors or inaccuracies in the AI-generated research outputs.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date on this page. Your continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
